First peek as always goes to the forum members here!  Grin

-          Front Activation

-          Positively locks into place with a single pin on the beavertail

-          Production models will be textured, details not yet finalized

-          Leaves the key elements of the XD safety, trigger, and grip untouched

-         Will fit all 9mm, .40, .357sig, and .45gap full size, compact models and subcompact models

-          Features a master on/off switch

-          Fully adjustable for windage and elevation

-          Similar fitting model will be available for the XD .45ACP

I have played with the prototype and I am really impressed! It really feels good in the hand. The design team out did themselves with this one, it is a great design. It is great to hear that this great pistol, long on the back burner, will be moving forward with a Lasergrip soon.

Here's another shot showing its backside a bit better...

The Lasergrips for the XD will be one solid piece, and the fit is really solid.  These may be the easiest Lasergrips to install yet.

This should make a lot of XD owners (like myself) very happy!

Sorry to dampen everyone's enthusiasm but I see potential problems with these prototype grips for the XP. Heat, cold, sweat, rain is going to make them shift not to mention panic use under the aforementioned conditions. I suggest further testing under these conditions.

But what do I know. I'm just the 800 lb. Gorilla in the room!

Nope they won't, they are rock solid and tight against the frame. I tried with all my muscle to make the prototype shift and I could not get it to budge even a little.

It is a very solid design.  Grin

OK. You know better than I do. I just saw red flags when I first viewed the prototype.

I have received several PM's and emails with questions, which I will address here.

What XD models with the LG-446 fit?

9/40/357/45GAP full size and compact models. You can take the LG-446 from your full size and put it on your compact if you so choose, being the LG-446 is very easy to install and take off I suspect many will appreciate this.

What about the XD-45?

This is also coming but likely will be after the release of the LG-446.

When will LG-446 be available?

Honestly I do not know, I would suspect fall or winter. We are still in the prototype phase.

Will this fit the XD-45GAP model?

Yes.

What will the price be?

Unknown at this time.

Will the LG-446 have a master on/off switch?

Yes. Our mad scientists on the design team outdid themselves with how they incorporated it.

Any thought to putting finger grooves on the front strap?

Hello Stryker,

I think the design team is trying to keep the design as minimal as possible, hence why there is only the place for the middle finger that serves as the activation point, but being this is only an early prototype the final product will probably be a little different from what is seen here.

What amazes me the most is the ergonomics of this Lasergrip, honestly I was a bit of a skeptic when I first saw the design but when I got my hands on it I was very impressed. It fills out the grip nicely by offering palm swells for a more positive grasp on the XD. I did not even notice the rear part of the grip because it is blended very well into the frame, and the activation point is easy to manipulate and very intuitive.

The LG-446 will fit them all, all full size and all sub-compacts with this one grip. Cool huh?  Afro

Jeff, thanks for the reply. I think the design looks great, allot better than the Glock IMOHO. Since the XD currently doesn't have finger grooves like Gen3 Glocks, I see allot of aftermarket add ons from Hogue and Pachmyer. Adding grooves for the ring and pinky fingers for the LG-446 would be the cat's ass, two birds in one stone. Regardless, the design looks good and CT will definately will get my business, once the XD45 design is released.

Thanks again.
