First of all, let me say thanks for taking the time to participate here.  It's somewhat rare for a manufacturer to be able to host a public forums these days without running into the "vocal minority" syndrome where the only people who take the time to say anything are just there to vent frustration.  Thanks for keeping it constructive and civil.

Recently I've been noticing an increase in the number of question or support issue threads where the original poster doesn't provide much detail.  If you make sure to note the following details, we should be better able to help you without having to simply say "call us" or "try again."

  • Provide as much detail as possible, and if you have a digital camera handy consider posting a picture.  Things like "It doesn't work" aren't terribly descriptive and leave too many possibilities.  Try things like "the lasergrips on my coffee table gun work great, but when I remove my secret freezer pistol from its hiding place the laser flickers intermittantly."
  • Indicate the make and model of your firearm, as well as the specific "LG-" model lasergrips you're using if there are multiple options available for your gun.  As an added bonus, indicate serial numbers of the Lasergrips if possible.
  • Indicate which steps you've taken to investigate and possibly remedy the problem.  If your dot isn't a clean dot anymore, have you tried cleaning it per the instructions in our FAQ?  Did the steps you took have any effect on the problem?
  • Be sure to mention your favorite type of pie

I think these guidelines will help us give more speedy resolution to your questions or issues.  That said, we pride ourselves on customer service and would love to hear from you on the phone if you prefer.  Call (800) 442-2406 anytime M-F 7am-5pm PST if you prefer to speak with us.

Where are the serial numbers at on the grips?  I sent in my registration card with a jumble of numbers all on the grips.  It has the date and month of manufacturing, but that's all I can read.  I have a SpringField XD 9( LG 446) model.

Great question...one we get quite often.

In general - the serial number is the only engraved number on the interior of the grip.  All other numbers, are part of the mold or employ a sticker for various reasons.

Specific to the LG-446, we have the serial in two locations - both are located right by the laser diode....they should all start with the model number followed by a hyphen and 5 or 6 digits.
For example, your serial number should read 446-xxxxxx on the interior of the grip either directly beneath or immediately aft of the laser diode compartment.

Hope this helps.

I don't see that anywhere in my laser at all...  Its starts 446...  You should put that in the template or where to read the serial numbers.  Otherwise, we send in the card with the wrong information in.

Agreed...we've been wrasslin' with this issue for some time...due to the unique design of every gun and thus every lasergrip, we have a hard time dedicating the same area on every grip to the serial number.

I just re-read my previous post and I want to clarify that the serial number is engraved on the interior of the lasergrip.

We've started gathering the info, and in the next few weeks we'll post photo samples showing where you can find serial numbers for most models.

Thanks for the tip!

It's a tough question to answer. My wife is an awesome cook and I'm not sure which is my favorite...Maybe pecan. I guess I will have to keep investigating. My sights are wrapped up under the tree, my wifes request since she bought them for me, but I will have them mounted as soon as possible. Thank you for the forum and for any future questions I may have. Merry Christmas. Grin
