Good morning all,
New to the CTC forum. Came here with a technical issues that is on its way to being resolved.

anyway, as my user name might indicate, I like knives. I buy them, collect them, sell them, trade them and make them.  I know most gun people have at least one nice knife. I make mostly Kitchen Knives and larger Fighters or Bushcraft type fixed blades. However I sell a lot of folders and have been known to collect a few as well  Smiley

so I have a question for ya'll...what kind of knife are you carrying right now??

I'll start...an emerson cqc-15 folder (made my own desert ironwood scales to replace stock g-10, fileworked spine and refinished with black T) in my right side front pocket, and a Bud Nealy Pesh Kabz 5" (CPM 154cm blade steel and cocobolo scales with mosaic pins) IWB on my left side, setup for crossdraw.

More like a tool than a knife, I never go any place without my Leatherman. I have a Remington 4" folding knife that I carry when I'm out for my morming walk.

dirk, i too have a multi tool that goes everywhere with me, its a gerber suspension. I used to have leatherman but I lost tow and now carry the cheaper, but still nice, gerber.

toddg, nice choice on the knife. I have sold a bunch of those ZT knives and they are very high quality. the ken onion  series with the speed assists are sweet!! those knives are built to last for sure. I sent a few over to some guys in the desert and they love them!!

I like any of the Ka Bar TDI as a defensive knife, although I'm still waiting for CTC to release laser grips for it Roll Eyes

I love the leatherman multitool. I work on towboats on the gulf coast and I won't go on watch unless it's in my pocket. That, and a small smith & wesson double blade folder (one smooth edge, one serrated blade). That being said, I really don't consider either as a "carry knife". Shoreside, I always have a venerable Gerber Mk 1 somewhere on my anatomy. Been carrying it with me for close to 30 years now.  Iit's simple, sturdy, and efficient. I can't give a much higher rating than that!  Wink

A Benchmade, or a German Auto (I forget the name).  I am more of a city boy so I don't have much call for knives other than opening boxes and defensive purposes.  If I am out in the woods, I carry a Case (old timer I think) as more of a utilitarian knife.

bilgerat,
the mk 1 is quite the venerable knife. I know many people who carried one in the jungle sin vietnam who still have the same knife. I have been looking for a minty vietnam era mk 1 for some time, but can't find one anyone is willing to part with even when I bust out the checkbook. an excellent choice sir.

ctc-jon,
what benchmade auto do you like? was the german auto a Boker? they make some nice KNIVES.

I was carrying the AFO now and again, but recently got an AFO II. its a better knife all around. better handle shape and everybody loves an knife with a glass break on it.  I also like the reflex and and nitrous.  I frequently carry a nitrous or reflex in the summer when its all hot and I'm wearing shorts, the thin profile on the reflex and nitrous makes them easy to carry.

I got a few of the Infidels in for some LEO customers of mine and I must say I wasn't very impressed. I sold the one I had bought for me.  I think benchmade made an error in judgment trying to produce an OTF like that. It wasn't terrible, but considering the competition they have from Microtech they really should have done a better job on the Infidel. The springs were weak and the sear is shaped so that the activation switch is kind of gritty. I'm sure the benchmade Infidel II will be much better.

I currently carry a Winchester small multitool, and a Ka-Bar folding warthog that desperately needs sharpening.

Greetings ALL! It's been a while. I carry a Emerson Raven knife, had it forever. Also a Streamlight Nanolight, a Leatherman Squirt and a Gerber Clutch. Later, AF.
