I understand your concern, but I really don't see how trimming down the trigger guard a bit could lead to some catastrophic failure.
Actually, I don't either. That being said, consider one thing - This is a polymer frame. The shock and stress of firing the weapon is borne and distributed throughout the frame. Not being a gunsmith or engineer, I don't know for sure if trimming the trigger guard would have adverse effects or not. All I'm saying is, be very very careful. A frame failure not only costs a lot of money to replace the frame, it can possibly cost you or a bystander  a great deal more. Maybe I'm just being a nervous-nelly, but I witnessed a frame failure on a 1911 in the service. The unfortunate man did survive, but it cost him the vision of one eye and hearing in one ear.
It's fun to "gadgetize" and God knows I enjoy it also. Just make absolutely certain you don't sacrifice safety for "cool". Good luck whichever way you go! Wink

When can we expect to see the laserguard for the full size glocks?  I.E. G17/G22 etc...?  What exactly is the dimensional difference that allows it to fit on a G19, but prevents it from fitting on a G17?  Upon close side by side comparison of my own glocks, I have been unable to see the difference in the guard or upper grip reigion between the two guns.  Thanks in advance.

You can use the Lg436 on a G17 with finger grooves but you will have a gap at the finger groove area between the grip and the gun. This is more of a cosmetic issue than functional but we decided that there would be customers who would find the gap unacceptable so we took the official position that this combination was not valid. I will try to post some pictures.

ironbarr,

Yes, you can swap your LG436 between the G19 and G26. The main difference between these two gun frames is the position of the finger grooves. As the frame gets larger the groove moves down slightly to keep an even spread. The LG436 is shaped to fit the 3 positions of the G26, 36 and 19 finger grooves. You might have is tweak the sighting but it will be very slight if at all. I haven't heard of any "trade in deals" yet but I will ask the question to the sales group.

Never thought about experimenting like that. I should see how the laser guard fits on my first gen (no finger grooves) G17. Any reason not to try this?

Bucky,

No reason not to try it. We do not have a first gen in house so I have not tested the fit. Let us know what you find out.
