What is your favorite holster / carry position. I'm thinking about getting a Tucker Gun Leather Sharkbite KDX for appendix carry although that might now work the best with a full size pistol.
BTW this would be a great thread to post pictures in.

I prefer appendix carry with the EHUD inside the waistband, tuckable from Suarez International, with a backing plate made by Dale (makes the holster as well). The JOAB is the same, but with a belt loop that wraps entirely around trhe belt. The EHUD hooks under the belt and ove the belt loops, but with 5.11 pants, the loops are spread for regualr carry. That allows the gun to slip below the belt. The backing plate slides in along with the pants when you mount the gun, and supports from above as well, so the one holster does the job of both the EHUD and the JOAB.

I carry a S&W 38 in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster. If the weather is cold enough for a jacket I sometimes carry a full sizd FNP9 in and Galco ISWB or a FN supplied belt holster

Guess it all depends on what I’m doin' and where I’m goin'.
Bad neighborhood .. Sig 229 Equinox in a Bianchi 59 paddle; Sig 226 in a Serpa Level 2 paddle;
REALLY bad neighborhood … XD 45 Tactical in a Bladetech paddle;
Bear neighborhood … S&W Mod 29 44 Mag in a modified Bianchi shoulder;
And just for fun … S&W 686 in a Bianchi Cyclone 111 …
Always a Colt AR in the truck.
All equipped with CT grips.
Since all the ammo and reloading supplies have dried up, my choice of weapons has also been influenced.
Mostly it depends on what I can make with my Dillon.

Serpa level II paddle on hip for Glock 19. Ballistic nylon ankle holster for Beretta 950 as backup (yeah, I know, it's small but it will get me out of dodge if needed).
In a slightly different vein, Vehicle carry vaults/locations. Doesn't seem to be a great deal of choices out there. I don't much like to leave my weapon(s) locked in console for obvious reasons (When I have to). Any info or ideas on products for secure lock-up with ready access or just storage on road trips would be appreciated.

Favorite holster ?? Depends on where I'm going & what I want to do. If I'm going to the range with my S&W .44 ( OLD Hand Ejector #2 ) for plinking - I use Dad's cross-over holster - with the guys / the "Hunter" black leather quick-draw style holster / cartrige loops around the belt. If I'm taking the Taurus 9mm, I usully wear the nylon holster that I used when I worked security - if I'm concealed, I wear my nylon shoulder holster. I'm "licensed" in the state to carry. I like choices. I'd like to get a cross-over holster forthe Taurus - cross-overs are esy to use standing OR sitting AND can be drawn with either hand.

You'll probably end up spending almost as much on holsters as you did on the pistol. There is no one holster that will work all the time. It's not a bad thing to have many, so don't get depressed with the cost. I have found through experience though, that you get what you pay for and I have a few "inexpensive" ones collecting dust in the locker. Find something that fits the gun securely without restricting the draw, one that is comfortable to carry ( or else you won't ),and one that is made well and will last. Unfortunately that costs $$. You'll know when you find one , don't worry. Try many, as there's Kydex, Carbon fiber, Leather, etc., etc. Try not to "settle" on one because it's the best the store has. I did, once, and it's one of the dust collectors now. I've found that starting prices are $40.00 and up ( usually up )for a good holster. Decent nylon ones for general carry are cheaper and alright, but they don't have that custom fit you'll find with the others. Good luck!

My EDC rides in a Desantis Nemesis copy in the right front pocket. When carrying more than my J-frame, I have the gun IWB at about 3:30. for my GLOCK 30, it's a Don Hume 715, and for either of my 1911's it's a Hume PCCH, which I like better than the 715, because the dual belt loops are more stable than the Single Steel clip. For really deep concealment with my Glock, I use a Smartcarry.
And I gotta agree that a decent holster will start around $40.

I have one carry gun. I made my own holsters and have used the same holster now daily for the past 3-1/2 years.
I dress to fit the gun/holster. Any place I might need to use the gun in self-defense has become a dangerous, really bad place.
You can't carry a gun for protection that you judge as lite days, heavy days. You're attacked, but only want to shoot somebody just a little bit?
If you know it is a dangerous place, don't go there [police and military excepted]. If you are forced to shoot in self-defense, you don't want to be wondering, "Why didn't I bring my 45 today?"
Carried just behind the hip, everyday. I have LG 404 grips on the way.
