I'm told that shims are needed to adapt this Crimson Trace laser to the Glock 21SF. I worry that this will be a cobbled up installation and the laser might not hold a zero. Will this laser fit solidly to the Glock 21SF? Does the handgun need to be modified? Thanks, Jim

Hey jim-

The shim is a small piece that is installed using a tacy glue strip that self seals to the grip for a positive grab. Once installed properly there is no way that thing can come out of there. There is no modification to the firearm, and in easily user installed. If you have any further questions feel free to give me call. (800)442-2406

Take care,

Thanks Nate,

I called but was told you were at at lunch so I'll ask this question here. If this Laser ever needs to be sent back to Crimson Trace for repairs can it be removed from the pistol with this adhesive holding it on? Thanks again!  Jim...

Hey there Jim-

Sorry I was out of the office testing product. to answer your question, the adhesive is only on the shim and the shim is attached to the grip not the gun; then you install the grip to the firearm. The grip can be removed and replaced without loosing zero and without the shim moving from it's placement to change the batteries or send in for repair. Once the Shim is installed it doesn't come off easily. I am back in the office if you have any more questions, or you can always respond here as well.

Take care

Hi Nate

I already installed the laser to my GLOCK 21SF, A very easy installation and the quality of your product is second to none. It is absolutely rock solid! If the GLOCK 21SF grip is already too large for your hand this laser will feel uncomfortable as it adds to the thickness of the grip. My wife can even get her hand around it without too much trouble. I was an injection molder for 25 years and I appreciate high quality molding. That's why I bought a GLOCK and your product. The fit is superb to this weapon. As long as you continue to build lasers to this quality level you will always get my business. THANKS!
