CT Grips Model 1911 issues

I purchased, new, some CT grips for my M1911. They are early models, and do not have an on off switch. They basically have never been usable because of two issues. First issue is the batteries quickly wore down on their own, no matter how careful I was to not leave the pressure point untouched so as to not have them accidentally get in the on mode. Secondly, no matter how careful I was, the red dot quickly turned into a red fuzz ball. I have sent them back to the factory at least two times and the problems remain the same. I got a bit frustrated the second or maybe even third time I sent them to factory and asked for a new pair and was turned down. The grips lay useless, as they have for years, on my desk....By the way, my j frame CT has been fantastic, also my CTs for my Sig 229 were super. I want to buy a CT for a S&W K frame i picked up as well as other guns but my experience with the 1911 grips has left me reluctant and a little disgruntled.I can send the 1911 grips in in again, and I want a working set of 1911 CT grips. But frankly I don't want my current non functioning 1911 grips back anymore!!! I am to the point of giving them away, with a warning they don't work!!! Any ideas? Michael G. Harkins, Atty. while I can't help you with the battery issue the reason they turn fuzzy on 1911's is the way a 1911 is oiled.when you fire it the oil from the rails on the slide and frame covers the lazer in oil, hence making it fuzzy. hopes this helps
